Great Western invasion of the Mid Hants Railways 'SPRING STEAM GALA' - 01/05/2021

Having successfully pulled off a Covid-safe 'AUTUMN STEAM GALA' in October 2020, the Mid-Hants Railway followed it up with a four-day 'SPRING STEAM GALA' from Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd May 2021. Normally this is a Friday-Sunday event but made up to four due to it falling on Mayday Bank Holiday Weekend.

The gala had a strong Great Western Branch Line theme with two visiting GWR locomotives, both based at heritage lines in the West Country. They were joined by four working members of the Home Fleet.

The full line-up was as
- GWR 4575-class 'Small Prairie' 2-6-2T (visiting from the South Devon Railway)
- GWR 8750-class 0-6-0PT (visiting from the Bodmin & Wenford Railway)*
- LSWR S15-class 4-6-0
- SR V-class 'Schools' 4-4-0 "Cheltenham"
- BR(M) 2MT-class 'Mickey Mouse' 2-6-2T (on Thunderbird duties)
- BR 'Standard 4'-class 2-6-0
* = 11th hour replacement for 6400-class 0-6-0PT which failed with boiler issues right before the event.

Sequences in this video are as
- 5526: Northside Lane Crossing, Ropley Car Park, Ropley Yard, Bowers Grove Lane and Medstead & Four Marks
- 4612: Alresford, Bishops Sutton, Bighton Bridge, Northside Lane Crossing and Ropley
- 506: Bishops Sutton, Bighton Bridge, Ropley and Rookwood
- 30925: Medstead & Four Marks, Ropley Car Park, Northside Lane Crossing and Bishops Sutton
- 41312: Ropley (replacing 506), Hampshire Hunt Bridge (replacing 30925), Rookwood and Alresford (replacing 5526)
- 76017: Hampshire Hunt Bridge, Bowers Grove Lane, Ropley Footpath, Bighton Bridge and Alresford.
